FOX’s new dramas failed to muster up much attention. The network fell in third last night behind CBS and NBC.
8pm
- The Bachelor special (7.7 million, 2.6/8 in 18-49) had a narrow victory in its hour.
- The premiere of Canterbury’s Law (7.6 million, 1.7/5) had to settle for second place.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (7.5 million, 2.7/7) did 2 million better than last week’s Captain episode.
- My Dad is Better Than Your Dad (6.9 million, 2.1/6) didn’t do much better than most.
- How I Met Your Mother* (6.7 million, 2.2/7) was off a tick from last week.
- Gossip Girl* (0.5/1) trailed far behind with 1.2 million.

MONDAY (3/10)
- The Bachelor: Where Are They Now? (ABC, 8pm): “Highlights from past seasons include segments catching up with past bachelors (Andrew Firestone and Aaron Buerge) and former contestants.” So the whole point of the show is to say there is no point to this show. Look at how successful it’s been!
- Canterbury’s Law (FOX, 8pm): Series premiere. “Julianna Margulies stars as a maverick defense lawyer who plays by her own rules to help the falsely accused.” I’m guessing ER will still be on long after this program goes off the air.
- New Amsterdam (FOX, 9pm): Regular day and time. If you didn’t watch last Tuesday or Thursday, I’m sure you won’t tonight either.
- October Road (ABC, 9pm): Special time. In the season (series?) finale, “Eddie’s ex-girlfriend shows up to reconnect with him, causing problems in his relationship with Janet.” Since we may never get a satisfactory resolution from this ratings-starved show, let’s just pretend Janet kicks her ass.

Now that we have come to the end of the writers’ strike, it’s time to once again update our television programming schedules.
Mid-season replacements have had seen their debuts shuffled (e.g. New Amsterdam), some programs are coming back with new episodes (e.g. Scrubs, 30 Rock) while other shows aren’t slated to return until next year (Pushing Daisies).
Here you can find a
compilation of the 2008 post-strike schedulesfor the five major networks. I would highly recommend printing this out since there are major changes across the board.
Two notes:
- This is the updated schedule as of May 6. Be prepared to see more changes and settling in the weeks to come.
- The list consists of premieres and dates for new episodes.

FOX Readjusts Winter Schedule
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, News,
Realizing it may have been a mistake to release a strike schedule waaay back in November, the execs at FOX have decided to change things up once again.
Two mid-season entries, New Amsterdam and Canterbury’s Law, will now premiere much earlier in the week (Mondays) instead of hidden away on Fridays. Meanwhile, When Women Rule the World has been taken off the winter schedule altogether.
Oh! And for those who just can’t get enough American Idol, your wish has been granted. The show was (temporarily) expanded to three airings a week at the end of February.
You can find a list of all premiere dates on TV Envy’s updated Revamped TV Programming Schedule.
